Creamy mashed potatoes meet deep, buttery flavor with Kinder’s Caramelized Onion Butter Seasoning. It’s a simple upgrade that turns a classic side into something special—rich, smooth, and full of holiday comfort.
Ingredients
3 Lbs Russet potatoes, peeled and cut into 1½-2" pieces
Salt
4 Tbsp unsalted butter, cut into pieces
½ cup whole milk
Instructions
Place the potatoes in a large pot and cover with cold water. Season generously with salt and bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce to a gentle simmer and cook until the potatoes are fork-tender, about 10–12 minutes.
Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Let them sit over low heat for a minute or two to evaporate any remaining moisture.
Mash the potatoes. The easiest approach is to use a potato masher. If you want ultra smooth potatoes pass the potatoes through a food mill back into the pot. This process takes more time, but gives you the smoothest potatoes.
In a small saucepan, warm milk over low heat until it is hot but not boiling. Gradually fold the warm milk into the potatoes, stirring gently to combine.
Next fold your diced butter into the potato and milk mixture. You want to melt the butter into the potatoes to emulsify the fat. This will result in a super creamy mashed potato.
Season with Kinder’s Caramelized Onion Butter seasoning.
Transfer to a serving dish and serve right away.
