Oven-baked ribs are a delicious and easy way to enjoy tender, flavorful BBQ ribs without firing up the grill. Slathered with our Founders Reserve Gold Label BBQ sauce for a rich, smoky sweetness inspired by John Kinder's competition sauce. For even juicier, more tender ribs, consider starting them with our All Purpose Pork Ribs Brine. This simple step elevates the flavor and ensures perfect results every time.
Ingredients
2 racks baby back ribs (12-13 bones each)
1 bottle Kinder’s Founders Reserve BBQ sauce
Instructions
Prepare your ribs by rinsing under cold water and patting dry with paper towels.
If desired, remove the membrane from the underside of each rack of ribs. (Leaving the membrane on is optional, as it can help retain moisture.)
Optional: For enhanced flavor and tenderness, brine the pork ribs overnight using our All Purpose Seasoning Brine for Pork Ribs. This step is optional but recommended as it helps seal in moisture for juicy, tender ribs.
Whether brined or cooking without brine, pat dry thoroughly and let ribs come to room temperature.
Preheat the oven to 275°F (no convection fan).
Generously season both sides of the ribs with Kinder’s All-Purpose Seasoning.
Lay out a sheet of aluminum foil, ensuring at least 6 inches of extra foil on each side. Place the ribs in the center, bone-side up.
Fold the aluminum foil over the ribs, creating a sealed pouch.
Transfer the wrapped ribs to a baking dish or sheet tray, keeping the bones facing up. Bake for 1½ hours.
After 1½ hours, rotate the pan 180 degrees and continue baking for another 1½ hours.
After 3 total hours of cooking, remove the ribs from the oven. Carefully open one pouch and test for tenderness by inserting a fork into the center. The fork should slide in and out effortlessly. If there is resistance, continue baking in 15-minute increments until tender.
Once fully tender, remove from the oven and leave the ribs wrapped in the foil. Optional: Allow ribs to rest for 30-60 minutes to reabsorb juices for a juicier final product.
Increase the oven temperature to 325°F.
Unwrap the ribs and coat generously with Kinder’s Founders Reserve BBQ Sauce. Roast at 325°F for 20 minutes. Serve immediately, or:
Optional: For extra sticky ribs, apply a second layer of BBQ sauce and roast for an additional 15 minutes. Once caramelized and sticky, remove from the oven and serve immediately.
