Want to take your Ribs to the next level? Our simple All Purpose Seasoning Brine is the way to go. This step is optional, but we recommend it to help lock in moisture, making your ribs extra tender and juicy. It takes just a few minutes to mix up, and then the brine does the work overnight. Try it with our Oven Baked Ribs.
Ingredients
32 oz Cold Water
1 Tbsp Kosher Salt
3 Tbsp Granulated Sugar
16 oz Ice Water
2 racks baby back ribs (12-13 bones each)
Instructions
Combine cold water, kosher salt, sugar, and Kinder's All Purpose Seasoning in a pot and place on the stove over high heat.
Warm this mixture until all of the sugar and salt has dissolved (around 160°F).
Remove from the heat and transfer to a container large enough to hold all the liquid.
Add the ice water and place in the fridge for up to 3 hours. You want the liquid to be chilled when the ribs are submerged.
Once the brine is cold, place pork racks in a zip lock bag.
Pour the brine over the ribs and seal the bag closed. You should be able to fold the ribs to fit in the zip lock, but you can also choose to cut your racks in half – either form will work with our recipe.
Place the bag in the fridge overnight (10-12 hours).
After 10-12 hours in the brine, remove the pork ribs and place them on a dish/plate lined with paper towels to dry.
Place the dish/plate with the pork ribs in the fridge until you are ready to cook.
Follow our Oven Baked Ribs recipe for the cooking process.
