Grilled BBQ Chicken Pizza

Grilled BBQ Chicken Pizza

This grilled BBQ chicken pizza layers smoky, sweet barbecue flavor onto a crisp, fire-kissed crust. Grilled chicken, melty cheese, and fresh toppings come together over a base of Kinder’s Sweet Honey Gold Label BBQ Sauce, which brings a balance of honey sweetness and classic barbecue tang. Cooking the pizza on the grill adds a light char and keeps the crust crisp, making this grilled BBQ chicken pizza a flavorful option for pizza night or casual outdoor meals.

Ingredients

For the BBQ Chicken

For the Pizza

  • 1 pound store-bought pizza dough (room temperature)

  • ½ cup Kinder’s Sweet Honey Gold Label BBQ Sauce (plus more for drizzling)

  • 1½ to 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

  • ½ small red onion, very thinly sliced

  • ¼ cup chopped fresh cilantro (optional)

  • Olive oil for brushing

Instructions

  1. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat, about 400°F, and set up for two-zone cooking if possible, leaving one side slightly cooler. Clean and oil the grates well.

  2. Lightly flour a work surface and stretch a 16oz ball of the store-bought dough into a 12 to 14 inch round. Brush one side lightly with olive oil.

  3. Place the dough oil-side down directly onto the grill grates over direct heat. Grill for about 2 minutes until bubbles form and the underside has grill marks and is lightly charred.

  4. Brush the top side of the dough lightly with olive oil, then flip it over onto the cooler side of the grill.

  5. Working quickly, spread about ½ cup Kinder’s Sweet Honey Gold Label BBQ Sauce evenly over the grilled side of the dough. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese, then distribute the chicken and thinly sliced red onion evenly over the top.

  6. Close the grill lid and cook for 5 to 8 minutes, rotating as needed, until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the bottom crust is crisp but not burned.

  7. Remove the pizza from the grill and let it rest for 2 to 3 minutes. Top with chopped cilantro and an optional light drizzle of additional Sweet Honey Gold BBQ Sauce.

  8. Slice and serve immediately while the crust is crisp and the cheese is melty.
