Crispy Air Fryer Tofu


This Crispy Air Fryer Tofu is a quick, flavorful option for easy weeknight dinners. The tofu cooks up golden and crisp on the outside while staying tender inside, then gets seasoned with Kinder’s Sweet Chili Garlic Seasoning for a bold, slightly sweet and savory kick. Serve it with your favorite sauce for dipping or drizzling, and pair with rice or veggies for a simple, satisfying meal.
Ingredients
TOFU
1 lb extra-firm tofu
1 Tbsp Kinder’s Sweet Chili Garlic Seasoning
1 Tbsp soy sauce or tamari
1 Tbsp neutral oil
3 Tbsp cornstarch
1 tsp baking powder
SAUCE OPTIONS
Instructions
Drain the tofu and pat it completely dry. Wrap it in paper towels and press under a heavy pan or plate for 10 to 15 minutes to remove excess moisture.
Cut the pressed tofu into 1-inch cubes and place them in a large bowl. Drizzle with soy sauce and neutral oil, then sprinkle the Kinder’s Sweet Chili Garlic Seasoning evenly over the top. Gently toss until all pieces are evenly coated.
In a separate bowl, mix together the cornstarch and baking powder until fully combined. Sprinkle this mixture over the seasoned tofu and gently toss until each cube has a light, even coating.
Preheat your air fryer to 400°F. Once the air fryer is up to temperature, spray the basket with nonstick spray then, arrange the tofu in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Air fry for 5 minutes, then shake the basket. Continue cooking for another 5 to 6 minutes, until the tofu is golden brown and crisp on the outside.
Lightly season one last time with Kinder’s Sweet Chili Garlic Seasoning and drizzle with your preferred sauce.
Serve the sauced tofu over steamed jasmine rice with steamed vegetables on the side.
