  1. Pre-heat oven to 375°F. 

  2. Grease a 9” x 9” baking dish with butter or cooking spray. A 9” x 13” will also work. 

  3. If using, cook bacon (or sausage) in skillet on medium heat until lightly browned. Remove from pan and allow to cool. Crumble into pieces and set aside. 

  4. Using microwave or small saucepan, melt butter. 

  5. In a large mixing bowl, add milk and eggs and whisk until combined. Add stuffing mix, melted butter, shredded cheese, and bacon (or sausage), if using. Toss gently to combine. 

  6. Pour mixture into prepared baking dish. For best results, place in refrigerator for 15 minutes to allow the bread cubes to soak up the liquid before baking. You can also bake immediately. 

  7. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until golden brown. Cool 5-10 minutes before serving.
