Hearty Beef Stew with Woodfired Chili

Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground beef

  • 1 lb beef stew meat

  • 1 yellow onion diced

  • 28oz crushed tomatoes

  • 14oz diced tomatoes

  • 14oz kidney beans

  • 1 Cup low sodium beef broth

  • Kinder's Woodfired Chili Seasoning

  • 1 diced green bell pepper, 4 cloves garlic, 1 diced jalapeño, optional

  • Favorite chili toppings

Instructions

  1. In large pot on high heat, cook ground beef using half of one Woodfired Chili packet, set aside

  2. Cook stew meat in pot on high using the second half of Woodfired Chili packet after setting aside ground beef. Sear all sides and cook about 7 minutes

  3. Reduce heat to medium low and add yellow onion, cook for 2-3 minutes until onion soaks in juices and becomes fragrant. If adding garlic, jalapeño, or bell pepper, add as well

  4. Add both cans of tomatoes, can of beans, Cup of beef broth, and ground beef back into pot, season with second packet of Woodfired Chili and mix

  5. Allow mixture to come to a boil, then reduce to simmer, low-medium low depending on your burner. Cover and cook for 30 minutes stirring occasionally

  6. Remove lid and continue to cook additional 20-40 minutes depending on desired thickness. Top with your favorite chili toppings
