Ingredients
1 box Kinder’s Homestyle Stuffing Mix
1½ Cup minced yellow onion
1½ Cup diced celery (about 3 stalks)
¾ Cup chicken broth
¾ Cup half and half*
2 large eggs
4 Tbsp butter
½ lb sausage (optional)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375°F.
Grease a 9" x 9" baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
If using sausage, place skillet on medium heat. Add sausage meat to the pan and break sausage into roughly ½ to ¾ inch pieces. Cook until lightly browned. Place cooked sausage in bowl.
Return the skillet to medium heat and add butter. Once melted, add onions and celery, and cook until just softened (about 5 to 7 minutes).
In a large mixing bowl, combine chicken broth, half and half, and eggs. Whisk until thoroughly blended. Gently stir in the Kinder's Homestyle Stuffing Mix, cooked vegetables, and sausage (if used). Allow the mixture to rest for 5 minutes before baking, giving the bread cubes time to fully absorb the liquid.
Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish.
Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until golden brown. Cool 5-10 minutes before serving
*For a lighter stuffing, you may substitute the half and half with an additional ½ cup of chicken broth.
