Ingredients
1 packet (16 tsp) of Kinder's Red Wine Beef Stew Seasoning
1 lb beef chuck roast or stew beef
2 Tbsp of a neutral cooking oil
2 Cups beef stock or water
4 Tbsp tomato paste
½ Cup red wine (optional)
3 Cups sliced carrots
2 Cups pearl onions (optional)
2 Tbsp chopped parsley (for garnish)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 275°F.
Cut beef chuck roast or stew beef into 1 inch cubes
Heat oil over medium heat in a Dutch oven or oven safe pot with lid.
Sear the beef pieces on all sides until lightly browned.
Add tomato paste to the pot with the beef and stir for 1 minute.
Add wine (if using) and stir, scraping any browned bits from the bottom of the pot.
Add beef stock (or water), Kinder’s Red Wine Beef Stew Seasoning, onions, and carrots to the pot. Stir well to combine.
Bring mixture to a simmer, then remove from heat.
Cover the Dutch oven or pot with the lid and place in the oven for 2½ hours, or until beef is tender.
Let rest for 15 minutes before serving.
Garnish with chopped parsley. Serve with mashed potatoes or rice.
